MIKAEL MÁNI – Birthday (The Sugarcubes) – Live
This is my live interpretation of “Birthday”, originally written by The Sugarcubes. I played this version as the encore during the release concert of my album Nostalgia Machine at Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavík. Although the piece didn’t make it onto that album, it became an important part of that period and was later recorded in a studio version for my album Innermost. This performance brings together musicians from very different musical backgrounds. I approached the song as a space where jazz, rock, and more impressionistic textures could coexist, rather than trying to replicate the original. Recorded live at Harpa, Reykjavík. 🎧 Studio version of “Birthday” (from the album Innermost) https://open.spotify.com/intl-it/trac...
