you out there, Ghost? Ghost in Every Season is probably the most vulnerable song I’ve ever written because it comes directly from dreams. The song is about this person — or maybe this feeling — that keeps appearing in different forms throughout my life. Sometimes they’re standing in a field, sometimes in the backseat of a car, sometimes just a voice I hear right before I wake up. Every time I think I’ve forgotten them, they come back again. That’s why the song’s called Ghost in Every Season. No matter where I am or who I become, they follow me somehow. I wrote most of it during periods where I wasn’t sleeping much on tour, which honestly made the dreams feel even more real. There were nights I’d wake up convinced I’d lost somebody important, even though I couldn’t explain who they were. The song kind of lives in that blurry space between memory, loneliness, imagination, and longing. A lot of people think the song is about romance, but to me it’s more about searching for connection and trying to understand parts of yourself that never fully make sense. It’s about missing something you can’t name. Part of me believes the ghost is real. And another part of me is terrified that it’s just a reflection of how alone I am.
