A full box of mixed cordless drills in for repair. Makita, Dewalt, Metabo, Milwaukee and Hikoki.

This lot of drills came in for a local kitchen manufacture who use them for manufacturing, assembly and fitting. These are a perfect example of how even the basic model of drill, no mater what brand, can last for years of daily use if used are cared for correctly. These drills have clearly not been overworked and so have continued running until the brushes simply wore out. As for which is best for longevity, the Hikoki HItachi drill uses a dc motor which is expensive to replace, but are expensive as the Metabo drill. The Metabo drill would be more powerful with a 4 pole motor, but it is also a more expensive drill. the milwaukee is a good option, but the 4 brushes are small and don't last as long. The best seems to be the dewalt for this one, as it was one of the oldest drills and so ran for a long time.
