We Found the MASSIVE Sunken Pirate Ship in Lake Mead (Now It’s Falling Apart)

We set out on a full day POV jet ski adventure across Lake Mead to explore some of the most fascinating and rarely seen locations on the lake… and ended up finding something incredible! From abandoned infrastructure to historic water systems, this trip took us to places most people will never see. One of the highlights of the journey was revisiting the massive sunken pirate ship first documented by Man + River back in 2022. After disappearing underwater again for years, dropping lake levels have recently exposed it once more—and it’s in worse condition than ever. Along the way, we also explored: • The historic Hoover Dam Batch Plant on Boulder Island, where water was processed for the construction of Hoover Dam • Lake Mead Intake No. 1, now sitting high above the waterline after becoming inoperable due to declining levels • The original Basic Magnesium intake tower that once supplied industry in Henderson • A close-up POV ride to the face of Hoover Dam, including a pass-by from the iconic Desert Princess Paddlewheel Cruiser Lake Mead continues to reveal hidden history as water levels fluctuate, exposing structures and stories long forgotten beneath the surface. This was one of our most unique explorations yet—and possibly one of the last chances to see some of these locations in their current state.
