Youngblood #3 - Atop the Fourth Wall

As I said a while ago, I always knew Joe would play a big part in the finale, so here we see the beginning of the culmination of that. Much like early Image comics, Channel Awesome has a very loose shared universe. Most of the time it’s played for laughs, but occasions like this allow us to acknowledge that we have our own things going on and people and resources to call on. Now oftentimes the situation is so dire or immediate that we just CAN’T call upon it, but when one is orchestrating a complicated plan to deal with an interdimensional conqueror, you call on what you’ve got and in this case, Lord Vyce conquering the earth would be as big a deal for Joe or any other producer as it would be for Linkara. And like I’ve said previously, Linkara is not the only champion of this universe – Joe can very much be considered another one. This also brings the Mechakara stuff back into the plot to help justify his existence in the storyline other than fanservice – that broken hand has continued to play a role on the show not only for this, but in another storyline down the road. And sadly this is also where Judas Liz exits the plot. It was supposed to be continued in Iron Liz’s own show, but sadly she never really got around to finishing it before she quit video reviewing. The idea was that she was going to stow away on Comicron One and eventually come out to take over the ship (the reset of the internal security would be based on anyone still on the ship at the time, so since she was hidden and registered along with the scan, nobody would be the wiser).
