Garies – This Small Town is the Heart of Namaqualand! Ep 222

We got back on the N7, crossed the bridge over the Sout River and headed for Garies where we were going to spend the evening. This small town surprised us and there was a lot to see on this Monday afternoon, including the Garies Hotel and the Garies High School which unfortunately partially burnt down. The highlight for me was without any doubt Letterklip, where the old-timers used to drop off their mail and sometimes spend the evening before travelling further. Our stay at the Garies Guest House was fantastic. We found it neat, clean and comfortable.
