[Genesis 39:1-6, Korean Revised Version] 1 Joseph was brought down to Egypt, and Potiphar, an Egyptian and captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had brought him there. 2 The Lord was with Joseph, so he became a successful man and was in the house of his Egyptian master. 3 His master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made everything he did prosper. 4 Joseph found favor with his master and served him; so he made Joseph overseer of his household and put all his possessions into his hand. 5 From the time he put Joseph in charge of his house and all his possessions, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake, and the blessing of the Lord extended to all that he had in his house and in his fields. 6 His master put all his possessions into Joseph’s hand and did not interfere with him except for his own food. Joseph was handsome and well-endowed.
