Scandi, Puukko or Saber Blade? Find Your Perfect Fit

Not sure which blade is right for you: scandi, puukko, or saber? Watch this video to learn how to choose the perfect fit for your needs! Scandi, Puukko, Saber, and a myriad of other blade shapes. How do you choose? Especially if you’re one of those guys who can’t leave well enough alone and must modify things. But is it really that I can’t leave well enough alone? Or is it that knife makers just don’t know how to cross the finish line with the absolutely perfect execution of a design resulting in a knife that works right out of the box. It seems that so many come so close. In this video, I have to admit that the Garberg required the least amount of modification of the blade and zero modification of the sheath to make it an absolutely fantastic functioning knife that you can carry every day, and know that it’s going to serve you well! I can’t say the same for the Gerber Strongarm. As much as I love this knife, it took a lot of hours out of my life to get it to where it is now but I do not regret those hours. The finished product is quite satisfying. However… If I ever do break this thing, I have to buy another one and start all over. That would suck. And finally, the Puukko is a nice knife, but I just have not warmed up to it. Even though it is quite a good slicer and a tough utilitarian, it has not worked its way into my weekly rotation. But I am not getting rid of it, because I think I just need to force myself to use it a little bit more to get more attached to it. We shall see.
