In the Pahalgam terror attack case, a Jammu court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Hafiz Saeed, founder of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, after the National Investigation Agency named him the mastermind in a supplementary chargesheet. According to sources, Saeed, who is believed to be in Pakistan, will be tried in absentia. The April 2025 attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam killed 26 people, most of them civilians. The NIA says its latest chargesheet details Saeed's alleged role in planning and overseeing the attack, backed by fresh forensic evidence collected from the scene.
