As you all know, the ancient temple of Kshetrapal Bhairav ​​Ji is located in Siyana village in Jalore district of Rajasthan state. This magnificent temple of Khetalaji is located in Siyana village in Jalore district of Rajasthan state. This temple is built on the Krishnavati River, which originates from Mount Abu. This story dates back to about 900 years ago when the Jalore fort was ruled by Maharaja Viramdev Songara. At that time, Siyana village was established. Siyana was established by a warrior/valorous person named Govardhan Ji during the time of Maharaja Veeramdev. First of all, let me tell you about some signs of the ancient Siyana village. Siyana was a village situated in the lap of a mountain named Kachela. This mountain still exists today. At present, this mountain stands like a huge great man, welcoming the devotees of Khetal Baba coming from outside. Its aura is very captivating. There was a common square in front of the present Rawla (court). The main gate of the village was near Pavti Pechke. The ancient temple here is of Sableshwar Mahadev Ji. On occasions like Holi, the traditional Gair dance was held in the village square. An unknown young man would join the Gair with a dagger in his hand. This great man would dance alongside the Gair members. After the Gair was over, he would engage a valiant young man in a duel and disappear. The young man would die instantly upon being caught in the clash. This sequence occurred annually. Then, the residents of Siyana village devised a plan to capture the great yogi (for this purpose, the blacksmiths fashioned an iron chain for the Aran). A few years later, during the Gair dance held on the occasion of Holi, the residents of Siyana observed the young man and captured him, as planned. Thus, the yogi was captured (it is said that even today, the Siyana Kshetrapal is bound by the same chain). However, he left a curse on those who captured him. This great yogi later became famous as Siyana Khetalaji. He was seated under a Khejri tree on Kachhola mountain, near the Krishnavati/Sukdi river in Siyana village. A grand temple currently stands there. In 1916, the Sonagara Chauhans took over the governance of Siyana village. The role of Sonagara Rajputs in protecting Siyana village has always been significant. Several historical chhatris remain within the Siyana Khetalaji temple complex. The first chhatris belong to Shri Kesardan Chauhan, the first ruler of Siyana village, and the second to Jetsingh Ji, who became a warrior while protecting cows. After him, his wife Saru Kanwar ji committed sati while fulfilling her duty as a wife. Her parents' home was in Lohayanagadh (present day Jaswantpura). Along with the brave Shri Jet Singh ji who protected the cows, two more great warriors were martyred, one of whom was Bhomiya Shri Sav Singh ji Paniwal, who was a very skilled commander, valiant warrior, horse rider, great warrior, a great hero who protected the cows and the people. The other was Shri Prem Singh ji Bhati (resident of Dolda), who lived in Siyana itself. These three great men (Jet Singh ji, Sav Singh ji and Prem Singh ji) became immortal forever by sacrificing their lives for the protection of cows. The third umbrella is of Shri Balidan ji and the fourth is of Megh Singh ji. Near them is an umbrella of Megh Singh ji's wife Bangeli Kanwar ji. Today, it is a magnificent temple, with a 105-foot-long salv (water tank) facing the Krishnavati River, consisting of six rooms, a hall, and six bathrooms. A large temple tank has been built on the hillside for water supply. Sixteen taps are installed in front of the salvage system. Five rooms are located behind umbrellas on the village side. Two rooms are located near the main entrance. Inside the palanquin, there is an office and a storeroom, and a covered havan kund (fire pit). Above the temple, there is a beautiful garden with a variety of trees and plants. Below, two cold water drinking fountains are located. Recently, two large gates have been constructed (one at the main bus station of Siyana village, and one at the entrance to the village from the Sukdi River, below the temple). Today, people from far-flung areas continue to have faith and belief in Siyana Khetalji. This is why devotees of Khetal Baba come here every year, not only from Jalore district, but also from all over Rajasthan, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
