We Take Our Kids to Mexico Every Month... Here's Why | Raising Global Kids in Tijuana

Our family lives in the United States, but almost every month we cross into Tijuana, Mexico—not just for tacos, affordable healthcare, or weekend adventures, but to give our children something we believe is even more valuable: a global perspective. In this episode of Roaming Together, we share why we intentionally immerse our family in everyday Mexican life. We ride public transportation, shop at neighborhood markets, attend local cultural events, practice Spanish, and teach our kids to appreciate different customs, traditions, and ways of living. We believe the best education doesn't always happen inside a classroom. Sometimes it happens while ordering lunch in another language, navigating a border crossing, learning about immigration and different laws, or making friends from another culture. Can visiting another country regularly help children become more open-minded? Does learning another language through real-life experiences make a difference? Would you want your children to grow up feeling comfortable in more than one culture? Join us as we explore how monthly trips to Tijuana are helping shape our family's worldview and preparing our children to become compassionate, curious, and confident global citizens. 💬 We'd love to hear from you: Would you raise your children this way? Why or why not? Let us know in the comments.
