The Ocarina of Time Remake Should Keep Its Bad Parts

The Ocarina of Time remake sounds like an easy win: better graphics, smoother controls, modern design, and a fresh version of one of the most important Zelda games ever made. But that’s exactly what makes it dangerous. In this video, I talk about why an Ocarina of Time remake should keep the “bad” parts: the empty spaces, the weird pacing, the awkward moments, the creepy old scenes, and the things modern game design would probably try to smooth over. Sometimes, when you “fix” an old game, you accidentally remove the reason it worked in the first place. We’ve already seen this happen with Majora’s Mask 3D, where changes to Zora swimming, boss design, and other mechanics made the game easier to understand but arguably less interesting. So if Nintendo ever fully remakes The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the biggest challenge won’t just be making better. They've gotta know what not to touch. #zelda #ocarinaoftime #nintendo
