Avenger/Greyhawks Family Found | Avengelyne carries on her sires legacy | Alberta Wild Horses

After 8 days of searching, checking maps, and following leads, we can finally say we have all laid eyes on these 4 girls; we can all say for certain they are safe. This is a bittersweet reunion. We sat in silence at a distance, keeping in mind that any loud noise could possibly scare them again. We sat still, immersed in the moment. We filmed about 15 minutes for you all to spend some time with his mares and babies too, and then we just sat in their presence, observing their behaviors and thinking how quiet it is without sweet Avenger/Greyhawk. He was the star of the show, the chaos, the excitement, always giving us some fancy steps or neck bows. He was a character, but a soft-hearted and gentle one. This is their first week alone, and our first time seeing them alone, really taking in how much Avenger had an impact on his family and their dynamic. The girls are quietly grazing and occasionally scanning their surroundings. Sweet little Avengelyne, Availa x Avengers 2026 filly, is well protected between the 2 mares and yearling. She is a sweet, courageous little one. While she probably does not understand where her father went, she is doing a great job sticking close to her momma and big sister. Aritsa, the lead mare, light bay - she is the most interesting of the group from a research perspective. While we have said before that Availa, the darker bay, was the closest to Avenger, Aritsa was the lead mare. She was known to go off on her own quite frequently, leading the band from the front, trusting Avenger to bring up the rear. So this is what we noticed: Aritsa is sticking very close to Availa and her daughters. She will walk off a few feet to graze and walk back to check on them. She seems to have taken on the roles of both her and Avenger. She is not leading from afar, but sticking with her harem sister in this time of loss and uncertainty. Aritsa's leadership and love are shining. To add to the weight of what Aritsa is going through, leading the band, protecting Availa's foals, and being Availa's comfort, she also is near foaling herself. We feel sadness that she may birth alone, that she may birth without the protection of a stallion on guard in the vulnerable hours of labor, but we hope Availa and yearling Avessa will step up to protect their lead mare when the time comes. We will continue to check in on them and pray that Aritsa has a safe delivery of her and Avenger's last foal. We also pray that both 2026 foals can be protected and thrive, and spread on the bloodline of their sire in time. Thank you for watching. Thank you everyone who is invested in their story and in the prosecution of the cruel person or people who did this crime. The truth will come to light and the person guilty will be held accountable; it is only a matter of time. As for his 4 girls, they will live on to tell his story and to be our reminder of what we are fighting for, who we are fighting for, and why. They deserve protection.
