The medieval origins of the city are also confirmed by numerous historical documents, in which the name Niemodlin appears as early as 1283. It is known that in the first years of its existence, Niemodlin was one of many market settlements, which over time transformed into a city of great importance. To appreciate the beauty of Niemodlin, you must go to the local market square. It is here that the most beautiful tenement houses are concentrated, which cannot be denied either a lack of beauty or historical value. Most of the tenement houses that can be seen in this place are interesting monuments from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Which ones are worth paying special attention to? The former town hall building (Rynek 1) is an important point on the tour for every history lover. Why? Because it is one of the oldest houses in this place. Built in the mid-18th century, it still attracts attention with interesting architectural details. The post office building (Rynek 5) also looks beautiful, built over 100 years ago and decorated with a magnificent pediment. It is also worth paying attention to tenement house no. 9, which now houses a restaurant. The Rococo tenement house marked with the number 13, which was built in the 18th century, also looks beautiful. Another interesting work of art here is the figure of St. Florian - the patron saint of firefighters, who was supposed to protect the city from fires in the past.
