He Said "I Know How to Break Cars Too" — Then Mine Died on the Freeway

My Sprinter van died on the freeway on Memorial Day. The mechanic said he'd never seen anything like it — a destroyed engine, a $10,000 repair bill. And my neighbor? He's a mechanic who told me directly: "I know how to fix cars. I know how to break them, too." This is day two of summer. There are dogs in the backyard, workers in the house, a dental bill I can't pay, ongoing litigation with someone who won't respond — and now a completely destroyed engine on the one vehicle keeping this family moving. I'm not here to perform strength. I'm here because this is real, and so many of you are living it too — the slams that keep coming, the rubble piling on, the feeling of clawing your way out just to have more thrown down on top of you. If you're a single mom treading water right now, you are not alone in this. We also talk about something new I'm building — local lead generation — and why I'm "dating contractors" in the Salt Lake Valley. (Not what it sounds like. Kind of what it sounds like.) Thank you to every single one of you who reached out, donated, and showed up.
