Living Alone for 1 Month in the Amazon Rainforest | Jungle Adventures & Wildlife - Peru
I spent a month living alone in the Amazon Rainforest in Peru, just outside Puerto Maldonado on the banks of the Tambopata River, and this video is a closer look at what life is really like in one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. I stayed in a tiny wooden bungalow right next to the Tambopata River. From the moment I arrived by tuk tuk along a dusty jungle road, I was surrounded by tropical plants, wildlife calls, and a level of humidity I was not prepared for. The bungalow itself… was an experience: moldy walls, creaking floors, and one night, a strange creature (some kind of marsupial? opossum?) wandering around inside. Throughout my time here, I explored the jungle on foot, visited the local produce market, and spent hours hiking with my camera to find wildlife. I filmed macaws, butterflies, lizards, a hummingbird nest with tiny eggs and 2 one-day-old babies!), monkeys, and so many colorful Amazon birds. One of the highlights was discovering a massive ancient tree with huge roots- likely hundreds of years old- where I sat quietly filming the forest around me. I also flew my drone over the Rainforest and captured aerial footage of the thick jungle canopy, winding waterways, and the sunset light illuminating the Tambopata River. If you’re curious what daily life in the Amazon rainforest actually looks like, this video shows everything: the wildlife, the sounds, the peaceful moments, the chaos, the mosquitos, and the raw beauty of Peru’s jungle. 🐒🦜 WHAT YOU’LL SEE IN THIS VIDEO: 00:00 – Tuk tuk ride on dirt roads through the jungle 01:20 – Tour of my tiny, moldy wooden bungalow 02:29 – Shopping at a local produce market 03:39 – Strange creature inside my bungalow 05:19 – Beautiful macaws 07:05 – Hiking into the jungle + drone footage of the canopy 10:29 – Trekking deeper into the rainforest with my camera; butterflies, vines, flowers, insects 17:13 – Massive ancient tree that is several hundred years old 20:36 – Birds: vulture, Andean motmot, several other colorful species 22:00 – Hummingbird nest with eggs + one-day-old chicks 26:13 – Monkeys (with babies!) 28:45 – Drone footage of the Tambopata River 🇵🇪 FILMED IN: Peru 📍 LOCATION: Tambopata National Reserve & Puerto Maldonado region 🦋🦜 WILDLIFE HIGHLIGHTS: – Scarlet macaws – Andean motmot – Yellow woodpecker & several other colorful tropical birds – Hummingbird nest + newborn chicks – Monkeys (with babies!) – Dragonflies & butterflies – Lizards – Insects & jungle critters – Ancient rainforest trees with massive roots 📸 CAMERA GEAR: Sony A6500 DJI Mavic 2 Pro Drone iPhone 12 Pro For my complete gear lists and more information about me: www.brookeonfoot.com Follow me on Instagram! @brookeonfoot If you enjoy my videos and want to support future adventures 🤍🫶 PayPal/ Venmo: @brookeonfoot 🎵 MUSIC: All music is from Epidemic Sound - link below for a free 30 day trial: https://www.epidemicsound.com/referra...
