Live Construction Planning Discussion where we discussed the following topics: Most planners load cost as one resource, they don’t load the cost with each resource based on its units, any reason? Do you require a trade in electrical or mechanical in order to be recognized as a planning engineer? I will start a new job as scheduler any advice plz? I have a problem keeping layouts based on filters, (WBS filters or Activity code filters), when copying the XER file the filter components become vanished. Always I need to rebuild filters. any advice on where to find planning or scheduler jobs? My baseline has around 10,000 activities. And each activity has detailed resources loaded and the big challenge comes up when we schedule the project and open the project. Some time it takes hours to import a project. From one of your courses I noted that, when you create an activity list from BOQ, you only make one activity for many tasks like shuttering+ pouring concrete + curing +removal of shuttering=concrete work . Is FIDIC red book 1999 helpful to study for planning engineer? can you pls put me through on delay analysis and extension of time, thanks please brief me about schedule comparison? can the project progress be monitored by cost & weightage? which one is preferred? what is the basic principle to assign weights?
