Rugby Punt Kicking | Low, Distance & UP!

Top kickers use small changes for different punt styles. This framework has been a game changer with the NRL kickers I’ve worked with, letting them kick from 50/40/30 into the cage with height and hang time for big territory gains. Here are the key coaching points: Ball Drop 1, Low: Get on the ball early in your swing, weight forward and over the ball. Drive it low to roll into touch for a 50/22 or 40/20. Ball Drop 2, Distance: Big exit boot or territory game! Ball Drop 3, Height & Hang Time: Add 5 seconds of height and hang time to your bombs and box kicks by using this punt style: tall body, uplift, and a solid plant foot.
