Rear Drive Shaft Replacement - Range Rover Sport or LR3
▼Parts and Tools Listed Below▼ This video will show you how to replace your rear drive shaft (aka propeller shaft, prop shaft, driveshaft) in a Range Rover Sport or LR3. The overall process is relatively simple, just removing bolts, but the trick with this replacement is having the correct tools (primarily socket extensions) so you have plenty of room. The rear drive shaft in Range Rover Sports and LR3s has a known failure point at the center support bearing. The rubber mounts for this bearing tend to wear out and allow the drive shaft to impact the housing causing a dull noise that corresponds to wheel speed. To find out if your drive shaft is causing the problem, you will need to get under the vehicle and inspect the shaft. If you see a worn-out center bearing or grease spray marks, you may need to replace your rear drive shaft before any significant problems arise. ➤ Parts required: Rear Drive Shaft ($299 on Amazon, not OEM): https://amzn.to/3q6ZCSr ➤ Tools required: E-Torx Sockets (E12 and E14): https://amzn.to/3IYwSUq 10mm and 13mm sockets: https://amzn.to/3yBOJMg Socket Extensions: https://amzn.to/3mdAWXc Torque Wrench: https://amzn.to/3J9Z9HY Blue Threat Lock: https://amzn.to/30FxUnc Ratchets: https://amzn.to/3E8Tdet Ratchets and 10 & 13mm sockets can be found in tool kit below ➤ The tool set I use: https://amzn.to/46VKwU4 ➤ Torque specifications (Nm/lb-ft): Driveshaft to rear diff: 110 lb.ft or 150 N.m Driveshaft to front transfer case: 54 lb.ft or 73 N.m Driveshaft center bearing: 22 lb.ft or 30 N.m Works with RRS and LR3 MY 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 #rangeroversport #LR3 #rangerover #landrover Disclaimer: Due to factors beyond my control, I cannot guarantee against improper use or unauthorized modifications of this information.
