Our trip through Brittany, France, turned out to be the most unplanned excursion of our lives. From Saint-Malo, through Ploërmel, Douarnenez, and Quiberon, to the megaliths at Carnac, this trip through Brittany changed our plans and even… our film lives. We simply wanted to drive around Brittany and record a peaceful road trip. Along the way, we discovered Saint-Malo – the city of pirates, magical menhirs, tiny towns like Malestroit, La Gacilly, Ploërmel, and Douarnenez, gigantic beaches we call "California," and finally, the Quiberon peninsula and the tip of France. There are galettes, cider, breakfasts by the port, the lives of the locals, and that unique, Breton daily life. On this unplanned journey through Brittany, we also encounter the extraordinary story of Polish soldiers in France and the painting of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Comblessac. We meet the people who are behind our work on a groundbreaking documentary about Poles in Brittany.
