You shadow a barrister in Chambers from one to five days per week depending on the length. You have to complete mini-pupillage application and each set has its deadline. Go to Court: Normally, you can go to Magistrates Court, or the Crown Court. Now let’s see what happens, as trials are being conducted via Zoom and other online platforms, its still too soon for this to be done live & the public given access to replicate the in court experience, but that may be where we are headed. Pro bono: Pro bono is Latin meaning for public good; so to us that is undertaking legal work without any charge to our clients – generally for client with low income Your provider will give you a multitude of avenues to choose from, to mention a few o Free Representation Unit o Pro Bono Community o Blackfriars Settlement Advice Centre o Immigration and Asylum Pro bono Scheme You can gain case management skills, interpersonal skills, work with the vulnerable, and practice advocacy!
