Norbert Blüm | Frank Elstner Menschen

Norbert Blüm, born in Rüsselsheim in 1935, joined Opel as an apprentice in 1949 – one of 1,000 applicants for what were then 20 positions. As Minister of Labor (1982-1998), Blüm was the only member of the Federal Cabinet to serve throughout Helmut Kohl's entire chancellorship. I interviewed Norbert Blüm on March 7, 2009, in Baden-Baden. He died on April 23, 2020, in Bonn.
