Canada, Mexico aligned on "preserving" CUSMA amid uncertainty with US

Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand held a joint press conference with Mexico’s Foreign Affairs Secretary Roberto Velasco Álvarez Friday and announced an approximately $12 million investment to advance the Canada-Mexico Action Plan. Anand said the investment was divided into three areas: human security, regional security and maritime security. Furthermore, she noted the economies of the two countries were "deeply integrated, preserving CUSMA, protecting our access to economies around the world, including predictable access to the U.S. market." Álvarez reaffirmed Anand's words, saying, "Our economic partnership remains one of the defining strengths of this relationship, supported by CUSMA."
