🏡 PO 4 LATACH WYRZUCAM GRANIT Z OGRODU!
👉 Styrobud lawn edging from the video: https://styrobud.eu/produkt/obrzeze-t... 🎥 This video was created in collaboration with Styrobud. I chose this solution myself because I was looking for an alternative to granite, which didn't work for me. The company provided the edging for the video, but as always, I'm presenting the topic from my own perspective – from a practical perspective, including installation, problems, and what will happen over time. 🏡 Why am I giving up on granite in the garden? Will concrete lawn edging be a better option? After several years of landscaping, it was time for another change. When I started landscaping, I thought granite edging would be a good, durable, and aesthetically pleasing solution. Today, after several seasons of use, however, I see a lot of problems. 🌱 Grass is growing through the cracks. 🤖 The robotic lawnmower jumps, gets lost, and doesn't always mow properly. 🧹 Cleaning the granite is tedious and requires repeating every season. 📐 The edging is too narrow and uneven, which means it doesn't perform as well in practice. Therefore, in this episode, I'll show you why I decided to replace the granite with wide concrete lawn edging, measuring 20 x 80 x 4 cm. The edging is reinforced, smooth, wide, and, in my opinion, much more practical for mowing the lawn, especially where the robotic lawnmower is working. In the video, I also show the initial installation of the edging, ground preparation, bedding, leveling, and how I solved the sprinkler issue with the new edging line. Instead of drilling holes in the concrete, I decided to move the sprinklers in front of the edging so they wouldn't spill unnecessarily on the concrete and to give the whole thing a neat appearance. 🌿 In the second part of the video, I also show how wood chips perform in the garden over time. It's a solution we're very happy with. Wood chips retain moisture well, reduce evaporation, help plants grow better, and are much cheaper than bark or stone. I show, among other things, yews, spruces, beeches, flower beds around the house, and places where plants grow better thanks to less competition and more moisture. I also explain why part of the garden still looks like a construction site, even though we've been living there for several years. The reason is simple: time and money. This year, we added a patio roof, photovoltaics, air conditioning, and other expenses, so we're building the garden in stages. However, in hindsight, I see that this isn't always a disadvantage, because now I know what I don't want to repeat. 🔥 In the video, I also talk about plans for a fire pit. Instead of pebbles and gravel, I'll use paving stones, because after my experience with overgrowing geotextile and weeds, I know that stone in such places can only look good for a short time. In this episode, you'll see, among other things: ✅ Why granite edging didn't work for me? ✅ What problems do overgrowing grass cause? ✅ How does a robotic lawn mower handle uneven edging? ✅ What edging did I choose for my garden? ✅ How is concrete lawn edging installed? ✅ Why do I add a thick layer of gravel under the edging? ✅ What did I do with the sprinklers for the new edging? ✅ Is wood chips in the garden a good idea? ✅ How do plants react to mulching with wood chips? ✅ Why don't I want pebbles near the fire pit? ✅ What are my future plans for the garden and flower beds? This video isn't just about edging. This is a more honest update on my garden after a few years – what worked, what annoys me, what I'm changing, and what I wouldn't do again. Let me know in the comments whether concrete, granite, paving stones, metal, plastic, or another solution worked better for you. I'm also curious if you use wood chips in your garden and how it looks after a few seasons. 👍 If you're interested in gardening, building a house, mistakes made over time, photovoltaics, home maintenance costs, and practical solutions for the home, subscribe and stay tuned for future episodes. 🎯 Contact: 📧 [email protected] 🎯 Second travel channel 👇👇👇 ▸ / @tĘdy_i_owĘdy #garden #lawnedge #chip #robotmower #homebuilding
