Fotografiando la Vía Láctea en el valle de Aguas tuertas

It all started on one of those free summer weekends that appear out of nowhere, when you least expect them. We had gone to work for a production company, filming part of a documentary, and when we finished… we looked at each other and thought: “What if we take advantage of this and get away?” I had been planning this photograph for a while. I had Aguas Tuertas marked on the map for months, waiting for the moment when I could finally climb up, pitch my tent, and capture the Milky Way from the top of a mountain range. Although the forecast predicted some clouds and we had a long hike ahead of us, I felt I had to try. It was now or never. So I grabbed my backpack, my gear, and convinced my friend Andoni to join me on this little adventure. We spent the day enjoying the trail, swimming in the pools, and letting ourselves be carried away by the rhythm of the valley. At sunset, we continued climbing to the summit where I was going to pitch my tent. From up there, surrounded by silence, the plan began to make sense. And then night fell. The sky opened up almost completely, revealing a spectacular Milky Way, clear and free of any light pollution. I took several photos I'd been dreaming of for a long time, the kind of images you want to print, hang at home, and cherish forever. We slept up there, with the wind blowing and the sky still ablaze. At dawn, the first rays illuminated the entire valley, and before starting our descent, I filmed a couple of shots with the drone that provided the perfect ending to this impromptu getaway.
