“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” – Psalms 46:1 There is no greater encouragement or comfort than the promise that God is our ultimate Helper in this life. In the 1990s, I added a chorus to this hymn for my home church congregation at Christian Assembly in Los Angeles, California. It was later released on a Promise Keepers album, along with many others. Although I’ve continued leading it at my church ever since, I had never personally recorded it until now.
