Travel Trailer Spare Tire Relocation: Under the Tongue

We had to move the spare tire on our travel trailer from the rear bumper to the tongue to accommodate the new eBike rack. Not only did the bike rack take up the space previously used by the spare tire, but we needed to get some weight back on the tongue to keep the balance. We tried it first with the tire mounted vertically on the side of the tongue, but this made it hard to hook up the load distributing hitch. So, I bought a spare tire hoist intended for a pickup truck and used that to mount the spare tire horizontally under the tongue. I had to move the battery box, fabricate a new battery tray, and reroute the wiring harness. It wasn't difficult, but it always takes longer than you expect.
