SSX Tricky - Quick Tokyo Megaplex (23.31)

Thanks for stopping by! This video showcases a seemingly new way to complete Tokyo Megaplex quickly -- the fastest way to complete it that doesn't involve clipping into the elevator. This discovery came about while I was replaying the game on my PS2. I was curious about pressing Select (which resets the player if they were stuck) on the first few possible frames and seeing what happened, and on the first go-around I was able to get that behind-start glitch. In reality, the trick is quite precise, because the moment you're supposed to press Select is actually not the first possible frame, instead a few frames afterward, making it pretty awkward to pull off. Nevertheless, this is more than possible for anyone to do as long as you pull off that first trick, so this is far from TAS only. This trick is possible because after the reset with Select, Elise collides with the starting lights, pushing her backward. This actually isn't possible with all characters though; it seems to only work with the taller ones. After that, clipping out of the map isn't that hard, you just need to hit the left pillar immediately after hitting the right wall. After that, you simply keep Square held, orient yourself like in the video, and jump. The game does everything else for you. And yes, this is not Sly! I eventually intended to do videos on other PS2 games (and more platforms beyond that), but only when I found a good opportunity to. This is a good opportunity. Have a question? Ask it in the comments or DM me at mcfighter2000 on Discord. You’ve reached the end. Thanks for reading, and have a blessed day! :D
