109 - Trekking in Val Vicima: Rifugio Alpe Bernasca (2093 metri)

The Bernasca Refuge is located near the Pizzolo saddle, in the upper Bernasca Valley, a western tributary of the Madre Valley. The refuge is a brick building, opened in 2002. It has a kitchen with a gas stove, a sink with hot and cold water, an oven, a cupboard with dishes, ten folding tables with benches, a table and three chairs, a stove and fireplace with firewood, a fire extinguisher, two bathrooms with hot and cold water (one with a shower), and a room with four beds complete with mattresses, pillows, and blankets. Another room is locked. On the mezzanine, accessible by a ladder, there are twelve more beds, also complete with mattresses, pillows, and blankets. Solar panel lighting is provided.
