Hunter Renfrow: The Man (The Myth, The Legend)

Hunter Renfrow recently completed an improbable journey that led him to two national championships and Clemson football immortality. The former walk-on turned Bama killer set a Clemson mark for the most consecutive starts as a receiver in addition to notching the school record for most consecutive games with a reception. He capped his senior season with his fourth consecutive ACC championship and posted a perfect record versus the hapless Gamecocks as part of Clemson's five (and counting) bomb. He will forever be known to Clemson fans and college football aficionados alike as the man who reeled in one of the most legendary catches in college football history, as he snared a touchdown from fellow Clemson legend Deshaun Watson with a mere one second left on the clock in the CFP title game in Tampa to defeat the Alabama Crimson Tide. No such heroics were needed in his final game as a Tiger, as he and his teammates destroyed Bama by a 44-16 margin in what was one of the most dominant title game performances in recent years. As his team became the first 15-0 team in modern history, Renfrow was recognized for his individual greatness, as he took home the Burlsworth Trophy which is given annually to the most outstanding player who began his career as a walk-on. Blessed with freakish coordination and soft hands, Renfrow first proved himself on the practice fields at Clemson before taking his place forever in the pantheon of WRU on some of college football's biggest stages.
