Mad Dog II: The Lost Gold (Wii) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of American Laser Games' 1992 arcade FMV light gun shooter, Mad Dog II: The Lost Gold. This video shows the game being played as it appeared in Majesco's 2009 compilation disc for the Nintendo Wii, Mad Dog McCree: Gunslinger Pack. The sequel to Mad Dog McCree doesn't do much to mess with the gameplay of the original, but that's just fine. The simplicity of these games is one of their strengths as arcade titles. You still run around trying to out-gun the entire wild west with your light-gun six shooter, you still get challenged to duels, and there are plenty of ridiculous shots of people falling over and through random objects. I much prefer this game over the first Mad Dog. Lost Gold has substantially more content than it's predecessor by providing a choice of three separate guides. Each guide takes you on a different path to get the map, and you'll only see each route once each game. At least now it takes playing it three times instead of just one too see everything worth seeing! I've included all three paths in this video, but I don't show playing through the game three different times. Rather, I show the entire first path, and at the point where all three paths come back together for the final stretch, I cut back to the guide select screen and show the second path. I do the same with the third, and then the video continues on as it would in the original game. I figured this made a lot more sense than showing the identical beginning and ending three separate times. The first path (Shooting Beaver) begins at 4:24. The second path (Buckskin Bonnie) begins at 7:45. The third path (The Professor) begins at 12:16. All three paths reconverge at 16:15, and the game continues on the same from that point regardless of the guide you chose. The branching videos are short, but the added replay value was nice - especially because the first home versions were all $50-60 when they came out! I also really appreciate that this game had music added to it - it doesn't sound quite as empty as the first one did. It's a great game for fans of light-gun shooters and FMV - if that sounds like you, I'd recommend picking it up! _ No cheats were used during the recording of this video.
