Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (“Popping Sound in Ears”) | Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment Eustachian Tube Dysfunction is a relatively common condition involving issues with the proper functioning of the eustachian tube, which is a ciliated tube located in the inner ear that is responsible for gaseous pressure regulation and drainage of middle ear fluid. A variety of conditions can lead to this condition including upper respiratory tract infections, allergies and recent vaccinations. In this lesson, we discuss the 3 types of Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, along with the signs and symptoms, triggers of symptoms (ex.
