Title: Implementing Remote Capture of Patient Reported Outcomes Speakers: Dr. Sara Ahmed and Dr. Susan Bartlett Educational Objectives: 1. Describe strategies to select and remotely capture PROs to meet multiple needs. 2. Review considerations to help optimize implementation in busy clinics. 3. Discuss approaches to enhance data integrity interest, uptake, and sustainability. Biosketch: Sara Ahmed, PT, Ph.D., is a Professor in the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy, and Associate Member in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Family Medicine, at McGill University. She leads a research program in person-centered digital health research and is the scientific director of the BRILLIANT learning health community project (https://www.brilliant-cfi.ca). She is an advisor for the Implementation of Patient-Reported Outcomes for the Quebec Support Unit. Dr. Ahmed conducts research aimed at improving health outcomes for individuals with chronic diseases. Her research addresses the implementation of patient-reported outcomes and digital health solutions across trajectories of care to inform clinical and health system decision-making. With Dr. Bartlett and others, Dr. Ahmed is leading the development of the FRQS Digital Health Network. Dr. Susan Bartlett is a licensed clinical psychologist and Professor of Medicine in the Divisions of Clinical Epidemiology, Rheumatology, and Respirology at McGill. She is an associate faculty member in the McGill Schools of Physical and Occupational Therapy, and Kinesiology. She is also an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Dr. Bartlett’s clinical and research interests focus on capturing and integrating the patient voice in health care decision making and research, and improving the measurement of patient reported outcomes in digital health. Her research has been funded by the CIHR, The Patient Centered Outcomes Research Initiative, NIH, and the Arthritis Society among others. With Dr. Ahmed, she co-directs the McGill Centre for Health Outcome, and co-leads the NIH PROMIS Canada initiative.
