Iowa Hill - Part 2 "King Of The Hill"
The clip starts off near Colfax as we climb through Smuthers and eventually Live Oak Ravine into Bunch Canyon at Yankee Jim's Bridge just outside of an old mining camp. Today not much remains of Yankee Jim's but a lawless man discovered gold here and eventually the miners of Iowa Hill. In 1853 some of the first hydraulic mining was introduced to the area here it also had the first mining ditch in Placer County. After enjoying the American River and Yankee Jim's the journey is going to get allot more intense as we take you up old Iowa Hill Road. This curvy narrow road high up on the cliffs of the Foresthill Divide is said to be California's most thrilling and intense roads. The road actually use to be the old stage coach wagon route that begin in Colfax and took you up to Iowa City today known as Iowa Hill. Its a very steep graded road there really are no guardrails and some of the road is heavily eroded from years of hydraulic mining that took place in the 1800's. Before you ascend you will be greeted by a raptor peering out from the lush foliage of the Tahoe National Forest eventually crossing over the American River at Mineral Bar before the big climb to Iowa Hill. Truly when it comes to this trek you are King Of The Hill its you taking on one of the sierras greatest river canyons which is very thrilling. This is not a road to take in winter weather and around hair pin curves you have to be careful with oncoming traffic but really its worth the journey as you can see. Eventually ill land you right downtown Iowa Hill. www.paranormalghostsociety.org/IowaHillCalifornia.htm
