Scarlatti Sonata K. 30 in G Minor, ('Cat's Fugue'), Moderato
Scarlatti's famous "Cats Fugue" paired with a collection of feline moments that capture the playful spirit often associated with this beloved work. Performed by David Tacher on a Flemish-style harpsichord (built by the performer). According to a popular story, the fugue's subject was inspired by a cat walking across the keyboard. Whether fact or legend, the music remains one of Scarlatti's most recognizable and entertaining works. Temperament: Rameau II (centered on D)
