Mt Sefton Climb, NZ Southern Alps - December 2010

Our third and (finally) successful attempt on Mt Sefton in the Southern Alps of New Zealand from the West Coast. A 5 day trip for us in December 2010, via the Copland Valley, Scotts Creek and Sefton's west ridge. A long approach carrying heavy packs and a climb of all of the mountains 3151m as we start from al but sea level. Day 2 is the toughest with 2000m of ascent and some semi-technical sections on steep rock where we used ropes. The video didn't come out during the more difficult sections ( the steep bits on the way up and the raging torrents on the way down on the last day) so this video makes things look a little more relaxing than they actually were.....
