Grinding Ink and Chinese Calligraphy - ASMR Sleep Aid

Relax as I grind some ink and practice some Chinese Calligraphy. I recently acquired a stick of Chinese stick ink and a small ink stone in which to grind it. This is my first attempt using it as well as my first attempt at Chinese calligraphy. In China, calligraphy is referred to as Shūfǎ which literally means the way, or method of writing. I certainly found the whole process of grinding the ink and then brushing it onto some paper, to be extremely relaxing. There is an order that the strokes are to made in and as a beginner, I have no idea what I'm doing. In the video, I am not actually writing, but rather drawing the symbols, attempting to make them look like the ones from a printed sheet just out of the camera's view. If I do a series of these videos perhaps I'll learn along the way and be able to memorize not only the symbols themselves, but also the order of the brush strokes used to create each. Nevertheless, I found this to be very relaxing and I hope you experience just a fraction of what I felt when you watch this video. Congratulations!
