Concussions -The Wives Of Two Former NFL Players Discuss Their Husbands Brain Injuries

Lisa McHale, wife of former NFL player Tom McHale, and Karen Johnson, wife of former NFL player Ron Johnson talk about their husband's brain injuries. Lisa McHale had never heard of CTE, and though she watched her husband suffer for years, it never occurred to either of them that his trouble could be related to his NFL career. Ron Johnson's wife began to notice strange behavior in her husband when he was in his late 50's. Johnson became agitated about inconsequential things as a way of covering his fear over is diminishing cognitive function. Johnson was never diagnosed as concussed, but when Johnson played the definition of a concussion was much narrower, and Johnson was always able to jump up after her was knocked down.
