Hanoi to Mai Chau road trip | North Vietnam Motorcycle Tour 2020

Today was the start of the North Vietnam Motorcycle tour 2020. This can be a Hanoi to Mai Chau road trip but I started from my home in the countryside near Nam Dinh. This is one of many great rides coming up in this series. Hanoi to Mai Chau road trip can take up to 5 - 6 hours depending on how many times you stop to take in the stunning views along the way. But you can normally do this in just 3 - 4 hours, also depending where in Hanoi you start from and at what time (traffic)! A stop at Thung Khe Pass is a must to enjoy Com Lam (sticky rice in bamboo) and a couple of sticks of BBQ pork. Stopping here is not just to fill your belly either but to enjoy fantastic views looking out to the landscape beyond. Just 5 - 10 minutes away is then the next scenic stop looking over Mai Chau itself below. A superb view from the flagpole which gets my vote as one of the best views to a town in Vietnam.
