The Brebes Police Criminal Investigation Unit's Mobile Brigade Team arrested the fugitive perpetrator of the assault that resulted in the death of a blengong satay vendor at Brebes Town Square in 2020. Because he resisted arrest, the perpetrator was shot with a live bullet in his right leg. The arrest was led by the Head of Unit I of the Brebes Police Criminal Investigation Unit, First Inspector Titok Ambar Pramono, on Tuesday (April 18, 2023). First Inspector Puji Haryati, Head of the Brebes Police Criminal Investigation Unit, stated that the perpetrator was a fugitive in the assault case of a satay vendor at Brebes Town Square on Wednesday (October 4, 2020), at around 10:30 PM WIB. The perpetrator was acting with another accomplice, Sofan (26), a resident of Pebatan Village, Wanasari District, who had previously been arrested and is undergoing legal proceedings. They attacked a satay vendor under the influence of alcohol. "The victim, returning from his sales, found the perpetrator and his friend drinking alcohol. The victim was told to stop and join the drinking party in a public restroom in the Brebes Town Square complex," said First Inspector Puji Heriati, Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Brebes Police, on Wednesday (April 19, 2023). "Then, suddenly, the perpetrator and his friend attacked the victim using broken glass. They also doused the victim with alcohol and hit him with a broken bottle. The perpetrator's cruel act also included hitting the victim's head with a paving stone until the victim bled to death and died while being taken to the hospital," she explained. In front of investigators, the perpetrator, Alvin, confessed that he had been running away to Jakarta for more than two years to work as a fisherman. Alvin had only returned to his hometown of Kupu village a few days ago to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. However, Alvin was unfortunately arrested by the police and held accountable for his actions. "The perpetrator is a repeat offender and has been in and out of prison many times. In fact, he's been in trouble with the police since he was a minor. He's either stolen or assaulted others," he explained. As a result of his actions, he is being charged under Article 170 of the Indonesian Criminal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison. (*)
