Naik Tikaram Thapa, posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra, bravely fought during Operation Rakshak in Jammu & Kashmir in 1999, holding his ground even after sustaining critical injuries. Sepoy Orang Vangsa, posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra, showed unmatched courage in an anti-terror operation in Punjab in 1993, sacrificing his life to protect his unit.
