South Queensferry is the port call for Edinburgh for those traveling by cruise ship. It is a tender port and the tender will drop and pick up at Hawes Pier where there are taxis, tours and the start for shore excursions. It is about a 30 minute drive into Edinburgh and there's a train station so you could use public transport. We stayed at the Orocco Pier Hotel which has an attached restaurant and lovely views of the bridges. https://www.oroccopier.co.uk We enjoyed drinks at the very local feeling Ferry Tap https://www.ferrytap.co.uk Really good food on the back patio provided a nice night at https://theboathouse.online We were so fortunate to join our friend Justin from Share the T a travel and tour company.
