Originally, seven garhies were built and ultimately the present fort was constructed in 1783. The area of the fort is about 7 acres and it has about 100 acres of forest land. Bharatgarh Fort : The Bharatgarh Fort in the Ropar district of Punjab was built in 1783 by Nawab Kapur Singh. It was a stronghold for the Singhpuria Misl and was strategically located on the banks of the Sutlej River. The fort is a tribute to Nawab Kapur Singh, who founded the Dal Khalsa and routed the Mughals, Afghans, and Persians from Punjab.
