A Bear Found Our Beehive, Highs and Lows of Homesteading | Ep. 20

This was a week of extreme highs and ultra lows at our Newfoundland Homestead. We've worked so hard, some of our prospects are coming to fruition, while others are being challenged. Will we be resilient enough to survive here. If there's one lesson I can learn from our honey bees, it's that I cannot give up. In the spring of 2025 we began building an off-grid homestead in the Boreal Forest of Newfoundland Canada. We started with an acre, a shed, some goals and dreams, and a 30 year old cabin. No power, no running water (besides the brook next to us), no previous experience. We spent all of our savings to get us here, escaped 9-5 city life. Now the real work begins.
