Our board member Jan Philipp Albrecht discusses these questions with economist Marcel Fratzscher. Marcel Fratzscher is President of the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), Professor of Macroeconomics at Humboldt University of Berlin, and one of the country's most distinguished economic experts. His work focuses on economic inequality, social justice, Europe's future, and how Germany can remain competitive in the long term. In this episode, he discusses the United States of Europe, societal understandings of justice, the future of work, and how democracies can remain effective in global competition with Jan Philipp Albrecht. Other topics include inequality and equal opportunities, education as a key economic policy issue, demographic change, artificial intelligence, and dealing with deindustrialization. This also addresses why politics must allow for change instead of cementing the status quo.
