SUBSTRATE PREPARATION Before application of the waterproofing materials check if the substrate is dry, even, compact, stable, free of dust and laitance. CX 20 INSTALLATION AND REPARATION MORTAR Any damage at the substrate should be filled in and levelled with e.g. cementitious mortar. Chamfer all edges at an angle of less than 45 degrees. Get rid of any substances which decrease adhesion. To remove all loose particles and laitance from the substrate use the grinding machine or steel brush. Remove the dust properly to prepare the surface for further work.Concave fillet inner corners, e.g. with cementitious mortar in the radius of about 4 cm. Allow the concave fillets to dry properly. 2. PREWETTING OF THE SUBSTRATE It is very important to thoroughly prewet the prepared substrate in the area of application with Ceresit CO 81 or at least water. CO 81 Silicifying fluid http://www.ceresit.com/en/products/pr... 3.WATERPROOFING SLURRY APPLICATION Mix Ceresit CR 65 into clean water and stir until becoming homogeneous and free of lumps. Wet substrates, recognizable by a visible darkening in colour, must be waterproofed with Ceresit CR 65 waterproofing slurry. Apply the first layer of CR 65 with a brush. When the first layer of CR 65 is dry/hard enough, we can proceed with application of second layer. The consistency of the slurry should be adapted to the application method by brush or trowel.
