His Excellency the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Inaugurates the “A Nation That Protects You” Exhibition to Raise Awareness of the Dangers of Drugs • His Excellency Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah: • Combating drugs is a shared national responsibility that requires the concerted efforts of state institutions, the private sector, and public benefit associations. • Prevention and community awareness represent the first line of defense in protecting our youth and safeguarding society from the scourge of drugs. • A shipment of A4 paper saturated with narcotics was seized thanks to continuous training and the use of the latest technologies. Under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, and with the attendance of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi, Her Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Hadi Al-Huwayla, and His Excellency the Minister of Justice, Counselor Nasser Yousef Al-Sumait, His Excellency the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior inaugurated the “A Nation That Protects You” exhibition on drug awareness today, Thursday, June 25, 2026. The exhibition, held at The Avenues Mall, is part of the comprehensive national awareness campaign to combat drugs, coinciding with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, and with the participation of several ministries and government agencies. His Excellency emphasized that combating drugs is not the sole responsibility of the Ministry of Interior, but rather a shared national responsibility based on the integrated efforts of state institutions, government agencies, the private sector, and public benefit associations, thus strengthening the protection of society from the scourge of drugs. His Excellency pointed out that drug smugglers continue to devise new methods for concealing narcotics. This is met with ongoing development of security measures through equipping specialized agencies with the latest technologies and sending personnel from the Ministry of Interior and the General Administration of Customs to specialized training courses, thus enhancing their ability to detect and thwart these methods. His Excellency explained that the specialized agencies were able to seize a shipment of A4 paper saturated with narcotics yesterday. He noted that continuous training, specialized courses, and the use of the latest technologies have enabled the officers of the General Administration of Drug Control and the General Administration of Customs to keep pace with and counter these emerging criminal methods. His Excellency emphasized that prevention and community awareness represent the first line of defense against the scourge of drugs. He stressed the importance of the role of the family, alongside schools, the media, and religious and social institutions, in protecting children and raising awareness of the dangers of drug use and addiction. Through its participation in the exhibition, the Ministry of Interior is showcasing its awareness and prevention programs and initiatives at informational booths offering educational and guidance content. These booths also highlight the efforts of specialized security sectors and answer visitors' inquiries, thereby promoting a culture of prevention and strengthening public awareness of the dangers of drugs. The Ministry of Interior is participating in the exhibition with several specialized departments, alongside the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Social Affairs, as part of integrated national efforts to protect society and prevent the scourge of drugs. #KuwaitPolice #MinistryofInterior
