In our last video we explored inside a traditional wet market here in the Philippines. After leaving the market, we continued walking through the busy streets of downtown Cagayan de Oro to see what the city looks like outside the market and try some local Filipino street food. Downtown CDO is full of life — street vendors selling fruit, snacks, clothes, and all kinds of food along the sidewalks. As we walked through the crowded streets, we decided to stop and try a few local street foods and desserts that people here enjoy every day. But one of the foods I tried turned out to be something I definitely wasn’t expecting. From sweet fruit snacks and green mango with bagoong to one very surprising street food moment, this is another side of everyday life in the Philippines that many tourists never really see.
