Next Steps for Distributed Programming with .NET and Orleans | OD112
In 2021, the Microsoft Orleans project moved into the Developer Division and a part of the .NET team. If you're unfamiliar with Microsoft Orleans, it's a virtual actor implementation initiated in Microsoft Research that is used by multiple teams like Halo, Mesh, and lots of 3rd party customers for implementing distributed processing with .NET. With Orleans nestled nicely into the .NET ecosystem, we're finding ways to use Orleans within ASP.NET and Azure, and are making investments with our Azure partners to make it easier than ever for .NET developers to build distributed, cloud-native apps.
