They are passionate about bringing the sounds of the Swing Era back to life with faithful transcriptions and re-workings of classic songs, showcasing the fantastic singers and vocalists in the band. In the band’s own distinct and unmistakable style they recreate classic tunes from the musical greats, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Glenn Miller and Louis Armstrong. The band burst on to the swing scene in 2013 and have since performed at many impressive venues and events, including The London Jazz Festival, Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho, Hideaway Streatham, The London Swing Festival, and the hugely popular Twinwood Festival. The Swing Orchestra has featured on Clare Teal’s BBC Radio 2 show with their 2017 studio album “Let’s Dance” - a celebration of the stunning music of the dance bands of the 1930s and 1940s. In October 2018 the band will be performing in Paris at the oldest jazz club in Europe, Le Caveau de la Huchette.
